The Party!

So where are we going?

More than anything, Tatiana’s is a cultural icon. It should be a UNESCO world heritage site, but for now, it’s just a Russian-Ukrainian restaurant standing on the Brighton Beach boardwalk, just a fifteen minute walk from Coney Island’s Luna Park. And for as long as Valerie can remember, it’s been the place of celebrations, the place where dreams are born.

On Saturday nights, something magical happens there. It becomes a fever dream—part cabaret, part banquet, and part nightclub. It’s camp. It’s SHOWTIME! It’s an hour long dance performance in the middle of dozens of dishes of herring and pelmeni and vodka shots. You will be full and you will be sweaty, because once the performance is over … it’s your turn to join the dance floor.

What will it be like?

We have been together for a decade. Our relationship has stood the test of time — thousands of miles, war-zones, and even … stand-up comedy.

In many ways, we’ve grown up together! Turned into the people we are today together! And now, we will commemorate that, our togetherness, and the joining of our communities. In our own way. With vows and readings and dancing and with you.

We can’t wait for you to join us to celebrate our tenure, our commitment to one another, and all that lies ahead.

QUESTIONS?

How do I get to Tatiana’s?

1

You can take a car or a subway to get to this restaurant.

IF YOU ARE ORDERING A CAR, please be aware: there are two, very different, Tatiana’s in New York City. You will need to make sure you select the Tatiana Restaurant that is in Brooklyn, and also the one that has an entrance of Brighton 4th Street.

If you’d like to enter the picturesque, ADA-accessible way, then we recommend asking your driver to drop you off right past Brightwater Court on Brighton 4th Street. There, you will see a long wooden ramp, take it! Once you do, you will enter a board-walk that looks out onto the Atlantic. If you are looking at the ocean, take a left, and keep walking until you see Tatiana’s! There will be signs, so you shouldn’t miss it.

If you are taking the subway, you can take the B, Q to Brighton Beach and then just walk down Brighton 4th street.

Do I need to order any food in advance?

2

No! The dinner will be buffet style. There will be something for everyone! Everything from pelmeni to beet salad to exploding-with-butter Chicken Kyiv.

At these types of restaurants, the food never stops! It’ll be one course after the next, ALL evening.

Come hungry!

What if I have a food allergy?

3

Please put in your food allergy into the RSVP section of the web-site.

The restaurant cannot control cross-contamination.

So if you have a serious food allergy, we will bring in food from an outside establishment. Please just let us know what you’d prefer in that case, and we will accommodate!

What’s the weather like?

4

November is a mixed-bag in New York City. Some Novembers its snowed. Last year, it was a crisp Fall day in the mid-60s. Because Tatiana’s is on the water, we recommend bringing a sweater or a light jacket no matter what. It will be easy, breezy, beautiful (Cover-Girl).

Also: projections say that this weekend is going to be PEAK foliage in New York City. So let’s keep our fingers crossed!
